Our pick up hours are Tuesday - Friday, 9am-2pm and Saturday 8:30am-10am sharp. The studio is closed on Sunday & Monday.

How should I transport my cake?

Your cake is safest for transport on the floor of your car. This usually means the passenger side footwell, but the boot is also okay. You can have a passenger hold a smaller cake on their lap if you'd like as well. In warmer months, we recommend putting on your air conditioner in the car. Do not place cake boxes on the car seat. Do not push on the sides of your cake box - support from underneath only.

Do you offer delivery?

Yes we do! Deliveries are available Tuesday – Saturday (subject to availability). It is advised to consider delivery when it comes to cakes with two or more tiers, in order to accommodate intricate designs and ensure smooth transportation of your cake.

Delivery fees are calculated based on distance, at the checkout. Deliveries are between 11am and 3pm on the selected date. If you need your cake at a specific time, we suggest ordering for the day before. If you have any questions about the delivery process, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Do your cakes have nuts in them?

None of our cakes contain nuts as listed ingredients, however our studio may handle nut products at other times. Therefore we do claim that any products made in our kitchen may contain traces of nuts. For a full ingredient list or for any concerns around nut allergies, please do not hesitate to reach out to our team directly.

How far in advance should I order?

We are currently taking bookings for wedding and custom celebration cakes about 12-18 months in advance. For orders from our online store, we require at least 3 days notice. We will always do our best to accommodate last minute custom bookings, but it’s recommended to allow at least two weeks notice.

I just want to secure a date, but I’m not 100% sure what I would like yet. What can I do?

No worries! You can secure your date with a non-refundable deposit. Once this is paid, you’re all set. We can chat about the details as you figure them out; this needs to be at least one month in advance. The deposit amount will be deducted from the total overall cost. Please fill out our wedding or custom celebration cake form and we will organise this for you.

Can you copy this design I found?

Due to the nature of the creative and cake decorating processes, we do not copy or replicate other artist’s work. Mood boards and inspiration images are welcomed, and will be used for inspiration only. We will always do our best to communicate with you, and create a cake that you’re going to love.

Please consider booking a custom cake to be similar to commissioning a piece of artwork. There must be an element of trust for your cake designer. If we don’t fit your desired aesthetic or feel we are unable to create the design you’re looking for, we may recommend someone else to help you instead. We only want the best outcome possible for you!

Do you offer options to cater to dietary requirements?

Unfortunately, at this stage we do not provide GF, DF or vegan options. If you need a recommendation of an amazing baker who will be able to provide these options, please let us know!

  • Cake Storage

Bakes by Her cakes are required to be stored in the fridge, but recommended to be enjoyed at room temperature. This means that you will need to find space in your fridge for your cake, and bring it out 1-2 hours before serving. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days. When moving your cake around, keep it level at all times.

  • Cake Display

Time to show it off! Your cake is made to be both enjoyed and admired. When displaying your cake, please make sure it is kept out of direct sunlight and heat. If using a cake stand, make sure it’s nice and sturdy before popping your cake on.

If you have any questions, please email info@bakesbyher.com.au

Cutting a slice should be a piece of cake!

While there are no rules about how to cut your cake, we’ve put together a few quick steps to help guide you through the cake cutting process. For shorter cakes, the traditional wedge method works a charm! For taller cakes and even portions, we recommend using a chopping board and cutting slices.

TIP: Before you slice, take care to remove all toppers and flowers.

1. Grab a chopping board, and hold it up against your cake.
2. Cut down all the way through the cake, letting the slice of cake gently fall onto the chopping board.
3. Cut into portions as desired - you can cut both horizontally and vertically.
Enjoy!
